About Me

A young woman with shoulder-length dark hair smiling outdoors in a green park with trees in the background.

I became a therapist because I believe that feeling understood, truly understood, can change everything. So many people move through life carrying things they were never meant to hold alone, often without the space or support to make sense of it. That’s something I’ve always been drawn to.

I also know what it’s like when your nervous system feels like it has a mind of its own, and how exhausting it can be to keep explaining yourself to people who don’t quite get it.

My approach is warm, collaborative, and down-to-earth. I don’t come into sessions with a fixed agenda or a checklist to work through. Instead, I meet you where you are, with curiosity, care, and respect for your pace. There is no “right” way to do therapy, and no timeline you need to keep up with.

I draw from trauma-informed, attachment-based, and somatic approaches, blending them with practical tools to support emotional regulation, nervous system awareness, and meaningful change in your day-to-day life.

Over time, I’ve been especially drawn to working with people navigating ADHD, trauma, and feeling overwhelmed or disconnected. These are areas where there can be a gap between what someone is experiencing internally and how they appear on the outside, and that gap often goes unseen. I find it meaningful to work in that space.

If you’ve been thinking about starting therapy, or coming back to it, I’m glad you’re here. You don’t need to have it all figured out before reaching out; that’s what the first conversation is for.

Hi, I’m Melissa Huang— a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) in Ontario

My Approach

What does Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) mean?

In Ontario, psychotherapists are regulated by the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO).

A Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) means I am a registered psychotherapist who is currently completing a required period of supervised practice. During this time, I provide therapy while receiving ongoing guidance from an experienced clinical supervisor.

Your sessions are held to the same professional, ethical, and confidentiality standards as all registered psychotherapists in Ontario.
