When it helps

When a psychological assessment makes sense

Some situations call for more than starting therapy: they call for a clear, documented picture first.

After a car accident

How the collision has affected you psychologically: the anxiety, the sleep, the being on edge, and what treatment would help. The report can support your accident benefits claim, when appropriate.

Driving-related difficulties

Panic behind the wheel, bracing as a passenger, avoiding the highway or the route where it happened, or not being able to drive at all: assessed and documented, with recommendations.

Clarity before treatment

When it is hard to say what is wrong, an assessment separates the threads, so treatment targets the right thing instead of guessing.

When your care team needs it in writing

Physicians, rehabilitation teams and lawyers often need a clear clinical picture. The report is written so all of them can use it.

The assessment

What we look at, and what you receive

What an assessment looks at

Anxiety, low mood and irritability. Sleep, nightmares and being constantly on edge. Concentration and memory changes. And where driving is involved: panic, avoidance, or not driving at all.

What you receive

A written report setting out what has changed, what it means for daily life, work and driving, and what treatment is recommended, usable by you, your physician, your rehabilitation team and your lawyer.

An assessment usually involves a structured interview and standardized questionnaires, at a pace that respects what you have been through. Nothing about it is a test you can fail: it is a way of making what you are experiencing visible, so it can be treated.
