Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 17, 2026

Mindful Connections Therapy ("we," "us," or "our") is a psychotherapy practice based in North York, Ontario, led by Melissa Huang, Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), CRPO #17942. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This policy explains what we collect through our website and related services, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Two kinds of information, two sets of rules.

Information you submit as part of receiving psychotherapy (your clinical records and personal health information) is governed by Ontario's Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA) and is kept confidential within your clinical file. This website policy primarily covers information collected through the website itself (such as contact and booking enquiries and analytics), which is handled in accordance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

How we use your information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for unrelated marketing.

Service providers we use

We rely on a small number of trusted providers who process information on our behalf. Each has its own privacy practices:

Cookies and tracking

Our site uses cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working, understand how it is used, and measure advertising. You can control or block cookies through your browser settings. You can also limit interest-based ads through your Meta ad settings, Google's ad settings, or the Digital Advertising Alliance of Canada. Blocking some cookies may affect how the site works.

How we protect your information

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, and we work with providers who do the same. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please avoid sending sensitive personal or health details through unsecured email; the booking system is the safer channel for appointment information.

How long we keep it

We keep website enquiry information only as long as needed to respond to you and for our records. Clinical records are retained as required by CRPO and applicable law.

Your choices and rights

Subject to applicable law, you may ask to access the personal information we hold about you, request a correction, or withdraw consent to certain uses such as marketing. To make a request, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity before responding.

Children

Our website and services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through this website.

Links to other sites

Our site may link to third-party websites. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, and we encourage you to review their policies.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date above reflects the most recent change. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
