Why people choose online

Online therapy is not a lesser version of the real thing. For many people it is the version that actually happens, week after week.

No commute, no waiting room

A 50-minute session takes 50 minutes. That matters when you are juggling work, children, or a long drive to the nearest therapist.

Your own space

Some things are easier to say from your own couch. Many people settle into difficult work faster at home than in an unfamiliar office.

Access outside the city

If you live in a smaller community, or somewhere with a long waitlist, online opens up the whole province.

Easier on low-energy days

For people managing pain, fatigue, or anxiety about leaving the house, online keeps therapy consistent when getting out is hard.

Continuity when life moves

Move cities, travel for work, go back to school. As long as you are in Ontario, you keep the same therapist.

Private, secure video

Sessions run on secure, PHIPA-compliant video through our practice management platform. No app to buy, just a link.

That is what the free 15-minute consultation is for.

How online sessions work

Simple on purpose. If you can join a video call, you can do this.

1. Book a free consultation

Pick a time online. The 15-minute call is by phone or video, whichever you prefer, and there is no obligation to continue.

2. Get your link

Before each session you receive a secure video link by email. No account to create, no software to install.

3. Meet from wherever you are

Find a private spot, put in headphones if it helps, and join. Sessions are 50 minutes, weekly or biweekly, at a pace you set together.

Common questions

Is online therapy as effective as in person?+
For most concerns we work with, research and our own experience say yes, provided you have a private space and a stable connection. Some people prefer in person, and for them the North York office is there. Many find they open up more easily at home.
Do I have to be in Ontario?+
Yes. Registered Psychotherapists are regulated by the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario, so you need to be physically in Ontario at the time of each session. You do not need to be in Toronto.
Is it private and secure?+
Yes. Video sessions run through our practice management platform on encrypted, PHIPA-compliant video. We ask that you join from a private space, and we do the same.
Does insurance cover online sessions?+
Most extended health plans that cover psychotherapy cover it online exactly as they would in person. Direct billing is available with select therapists through TELUS Health eClaims. Ask at your consultation.
What if my connection drops?+
It happens. We wait, reconnect, and if video will not cooperate we finish by phone. You will not lose the session.
What does it cost?+
The 15-minute consultation is free. Individual sessions are $170 for 50 minutes, the same online as in person. Couples sessions are $200.
