If something you went through still lives in your body, in the flashbacks, the on-edge feeling, the going numb, you do not have to carry it alone. We offer trauma and PTSD therapy for adults across Toronto, in person near Leslie and Sheppard or securely online anywhere in the city.
Toronto keeps moving, and so does life after something hard happens. You go back to work, back to the commute, back to the noise, while a part of you is still braced for danger. Trauma can leave you jumpy and on edge, or strangely flat and numb, even years after the event is over.
Trauma therapy gives that part of you a place to settle. We work gently and slowly, building a sense of safety first, so your nervous system can learn that the threat has passed. You set the pace, and we never push past what feels manageable in any given session.
You can meet in person at our North York office, an easy trip from across the city, or online from wherever you are in Toronto.
Steadiness first, then gentle, evidence-based ways of letting the past become the past.
Before we go anywhere near the hard memories, we build skills to help you feel steady and present, so the work never tips you into overwhelm.
EMDR helps the brain reprocess painful memories so they lose their charge, often without you needing to describe every detail out loud.
Using IFS and parts work, we get to know the protective patterns that grew up around the trauma, with curiosity rather than blame.
Somatic and nervous-system work helps release what trauma stores in the body, so the on-edge or shut-down feeling can finally ease.
There is no single right way through trauma, so we do not force one. We draw on several evidence-based approaches and weave them together around what you are carrying and what feels safe for your nervous system right now.
For some people that means EMDR to settle a specific memory. For others it means EFT to repair trust and closeness, or somatic work to come back into the body. We move at your pace, check in often, and keep the work collaborative from start to finish.
Whether the trauma was one moment or many years, and wherever you are in the city.
After a crash, with flashbacks, anxiety on the road or a body that will not settle.
After an assault, a medical event or a frightening experience that still feels too close.
Long-standing wounds from early years that still shape how safe you feel today.
Carrying what you have seen on the job, in a role that rarely makes room for it.
Flashbacks, nightmares, hypervigilance or avoidance that have taken over daily life.
Feeling cut off and flat, or wound up and unable to relax, and unsure why.
