Our approach
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) helps you stop fighting difficult thoughts and feelings, make room for them, and put your energy into a life that reflects what genuinely matters to you.
A method tailored to you, never one-size-fits-all.
In plain language
ACT starts from a counter-intuitive truth: a lot of our suffering comes not from pain itself, but from the struggle to get rid of it. The harder we fight anxiety or sadness, the more they tend to run the show.
Instead of trying to delete difficult thoughts and feelings, ACT helps you change your relationship to them, making room for them, unhooking from the ones that are not helpful, and staying present rather than tangled in your head.
From that steadier place, we get clear on your values, what kind of life you actually want, and take committed, doable steps toward it, even while hard feelings come along for the ride.
Make room for hard feelings instead of fighting them.
Energy goes toward what truly matters to you.
Unhook from unhelpful thoughts; act on what counts.
In our work together
What we work on is yours to name. Here is how ACT tends to show up in our sessions, woven in with whatever else fits you.
We notice where fighting your feelings is costing you, and try a gentler stance: making room instead of battling.
We practice stepping back from sticky thoughts so they have less pull, you can have a thought without obeying it.
We get clear on what you actually want your life to stand for, the compass underneath the goals.
We take small, values-guided steps, again and again, building a life that feels like yours.
Is it a fit?
If some of this resonates, ACT may be part of how we work, always at your pace.
Fighting your feelings leaves you more stuck, you are caught up in worry or rumination, life feels narrowed by avoidance, or you have lost touch with what matters to you.
Make peace with feelings you cannot just delete, get unhooked from anxious or harsh thoughts, reconnect with your values, and take meaningful action even when it is hard.
No single method fits everyone, most of our work blends a few, always at your pace.
